Who is Les?
Les Miller is a 4th generation local from Algies Bay. Before beginning a career in law, he owned his own sign writing business in Warkworth. Les is a great listener who likes nothing more than getting to know a client’s legal issue thoroughly before suggesting any advice. He prides himself on making his legal advice as succinct as possible and ensuring that resulting actions are efficient. He aims to have client’s problems resolved with as little as possible interference in their lives. With an LLB from Victoria University, Les specialises in complicated subdivisions, leasing, sales and purchases, property based legal issues and company law.
The Best Part of the Job
Les likes meeting the many and varied people who come in seeking help. He particularly enjoys commercial work due to its complicated nature. Les finds it interesting to deal with drafting commercial agreements including shareholding agreements and the sale of shares.
Why Law?
Les’ favourite part of law is ‘Caveat emptor’ buyer beware. He likes this because it is a general principle of our law that, while allowing parties to freely bargain, once they enter into an agreement they are bound to complete it.
Outside Work
Outside of work Les spends time with his young family, cooking slow roasts over charcoal, listening to historical podcasts and biking, running and walking around the Orewa Estuary.
