Who is Les?
Les Miller is a 4th generation local from Algies Bay. Before beginning a career in law he owned his own sign writing business in Warkworth. Les is a great listener who likes nothing more than getting to know a client’s legal issue thoroughly before suggesting any advice. He prides himself on making his legal advice as succinct as possible and ensuring that resulting actions are efficient. He aims to have client’s problems resolved with as little as possible interference in their lives. With an LLB from Victoria University, Les specialises in complicated subdivisions, leasing, sales and purchases, retirement village licences, property based legal issues and, company law.
The Best Part of the Job
Les likes meeting the many and varied people who come in seeking help. He particularly enjoys subdivision work due to its complicated nature. Les finds it interesting to deal with the land register forming new encumbrances and titles for land.
Les’ favourite part of law is ‘Caveat emptor’ buyer beware. He likes this because it is a general principle of our law that, while allowing parties to freely bargain, once they enter into an agreement they are bound to complete it.
Outside of work Les is member of his local Rotary Club, enjoying Rotary wine auctions and weekly meetings, as well as being a board member of Camp Bentson, Kawau Island Charitable Trust and spending time with family.
