Who is Jackie?

Growing up on a dairy farm in the Waikato, Jackie is very pragmatic, with a no fuss and get on with it attitude. With experience in property and family law she can work through scenarios and likely outcomes for a broad range of clients. Jackie’s LLB from Otago University and LLM from Canterbury University have led to specialising in legal issues surrounding relationships, such as separation, entering into a new relationship, death of a partner or spouse, and changes in lifestyle, such as preparing for retirement.

The Best Part of the Job

Jackie finds the best part of her job is helping people through difficult situations and being able to demystify the law for them. Providing information and advice that empowers her clients to take some steps to resolve their own matters, explaining things to people in a way that they will understand, is all part of what Jackie enjoys most about her job. Jackie is able to listen to her clients, understand the outcome they want, focus on the relevant issues and draft documents in simple language.

Why Law?

Jackie really enjoys seeing the difference in her clients from the first interview when they are stressed and overwhelmed, to further down the track when they have greater confidence and trust that things will work out.

Outside Work

Outside of work Jackie is a member of the Warkworth Business and Professional Women’s Club Inc, secretary of the Leigh Fishing Contest Inc, as well as actively supporting events in the Leigh community where she lives.
